We've stayed away from the rumor mill about pricing until the big announcement - Windows Vista pricing is official...and it's not as bad as you might have thought! Microsoft has announced pricing for the five (whew) different versions of Windows Vista. Starting at what seems to be an affordable hundred smackers for the "Basic" upgrade, the cost zooms up to $399 for the full "Ultimate" edition. Here's the nitty gritty:
Windows Vista Home Basic: $99 upgrade, $199 full
Windows Vista Home Premium: $159 upgrade, $239 full
Windows Vista Business: $199 upgrade, $299 full
Windows Vista Ultimate: $259 upgrade, $399 full
Windows Vista Enterprise: Volume licenses only
Check out Microsoft's web site for more details on what each version does. According to our friends in Redmond, there's a version to fit your needs and your PC.
